Workshop: Helping Your Child With Anxiety

Children experience anxiety. It can be expressed in different ways from a screaming fit to shutting down. This workshop is designed to revisit what anxiety looks like for ourselves and specifically for our children. We will explore ways to support your child and how you can integrate mindfulness into your everyday life.

Katie Potocnik-Medina is a Middle School Social Worker and mother of a child with anxiety. For the past 8 years, Katies has been sharing tools and resources with parents to support their child.

Integrating Mindfulness Into Your Family

Learn how you can integrate the tools of mindfulness into your home and daily lives as a family. Gain insights into how to introduce mindfulness into your child's life. You will learn simple steps you can begin doing right away. We understand parents are busy and have a lot on their plate, perhaps more now than ever before - all the more reason to take time to gain helpful insights into living a more balanced and less stressed life - mindfulness tools you and your child can use the rest of your lives.

Workshop: Digital Health and Your Child

Many of our activities for work, school and social connections have moved online. We are in front of screen for many hours in our day. While there are many benefits of connecting online from learning and connecting with friends, it can be hard to manage what is the right amount of time for your child. In this workshop you will learn what affects your child could be experiencing and concrete strategies for balancing technology in your child's life. Gain insights and tools for managing your child's digital health in a good way.

Workshop: Incorporating Mindfulness in Supporting a Child with ADHD

ADHD presents challenges and great advantages. In this workshop, Katie Potocnik-Medina, LMSW and Founding Middle School Social Worker for KIPP NYC will share insights and best practices for parents of children with ADHD. As mother of a child with ADHD, she knows first hand what parents are facing. Supporting students and families in her school, Katie will share concrete steps you can do to support your child in their journey with ADHD.
