Meet AOM

Jen and Katie (sisters) came together to create Awareness of Mind - a collaborative of experts in well-being, mental health and emotional intelligence. We utilize mindfulness and other tools to support the well-being of adults and children working one-on-one, through classes or programs at your office. Life presents each of us with challenges. We envision a world in which each person has the tools to face whatever challenge is facing them next. We want to support you in feel empowered and strong in mind, body and spirt!

Meet the Team


Jen potocnik

Coach | Facilitator | Teacher

Jen embodies a deep sense of listening, and loves creating a space for others to flourish and grow! Early in life, Jen struggled with perfectionism, burning the candle at both ends. Affecting her health, Jen was motivated to find new tools and solutions to feel better. Diving into wellness, she is trained in mindfulness meditation, yoga and integrative health; studying Eastern and Western philosophies and practices.

With a 25 year career in the private, nonprofit and higher ed fields, Jen understands the demands individuals face in these careers everything from how to deal with a stressed out colleague to figuring out how to make a change for your next career/life purpose.

Jen has been teaching mindfulness, wellness and yoga to children and adults since 2015 in New York City, Durham - North Carolina, Portland - Oregon, and online around the country. In addition to teaching and facilitating, Jen works one on one with clients in making a change mindfully, with greater ease and clarity. 

KATIE POTOCNIK- MEDINA, LMSW

Parent Coach | Facilitator

Katie lights up in her work with children and families. As a mother, Katie balances work, home and kids' needs. Katie understands the struggles of finding the right resources and tools to support her own child with ADHD, anxiety and sensory needs. In addition to, Katie has been working as a Middle School Social Worker for the past 10 years. As a trained social worker, she has studied and put into practice different strategies and tools to help children and families who are facing these same issues.

Before her career as a Social Worker, Katie worked in social behavioral change. In short, she understands the needs of children, families and the different steps towards positive change for everyone.

Katie offers workshops for parents and caregivers on ADHD, ADD, anxiety and sensory needs. She also works 1:1 with caregivers to be a partner to you as you navigate which step is the next best step for your child and your family.
